DogFriendly.com announced its 2005 list of the Top 10 dog-friendly destination cities in the United States and Canada. The list, compiled annually for people who want to take their dogs with them on vacation. names dog loving larger cities and resort areas. The rankings are determined by the DogFriendly staff. To obtain these results they take into account the number and quality of accommodations allowing dogs, transportation, availability of interesting things to do with your canine friend and outdoor restaurants that allow pets. So go ahead and start your vacation planning...

  1. Chicago - Stay in an upscale hotel, take a boat tour, visit Navy Pier, enjoy the parks. Chicago has lots to do with your four-legged pal.
  2. Vancouver - Visit Historic Gastown and Granville Island. Take your leashed dog on the local trains and buses. Visit nearby Victoria.
  3. Boston - Walk the freedom trail, visit the Faneuil Hall marketplace and ride in a carriage. Your dog may ride the city subways with you. Visit nearby Cape Cod or Bar Harbour.
