Dog
health begins with a healthy lifestyle
You
are what you eat and your dog is no exception. Dog health
depends largely on what kind of dog food you are buying
or cooking for your pet. Is her dog food free of preservatives,
chemicals and made with 100% natural ingredients? Is
she on the raw food diet?
This is what you want to achieve if you're not there
yet.
Be
sure to get veterinary advice regarding the optimal
weight for your dog. An overweight animal will put extra
stress on her joints and this can lead to canine arthritis.
She will also be more prone to diabetes and heart disease.
Choose pet treats wisely. There are excellent natural
dog bones and chews as well as delicious training treats,
but, careful not to overindulge.
As
for exercise, dog health depends upon it. While there
are dog breeds that require less exercise like those
generally found in the Toy Group, know your pooch and
what its exercise requirements are. Just like people,
activity will keep your dog fit and at her optimal weight.
She will than be more resistant to dog diseases and
dog illnesses. Treat your dog's body with respect, and
remember, garbage in, garbage out!
