No nonsense flea control and flea prevention!

Nobody wants to spray nasty chemicals around the house to get rid of fleas, so prevention is key before things get too bad. Why not think of flea control as a game of chess where you stay several moves ahead!

Make friends with your vacuum cleaner, laundry machine and towels.
All of these cleaning agents will help you to stay on top of the game. Vacuuming carpeted floors, wood floors, rugs and upholstered furniture regularly will help destroy flea eggs before they hatch. In areas of the house where your dog loves to lay, vacuum more frequently.

Rules for vacuuming: spring time is the beginning of the active flea season. Be sure to vacuum certain rooms twice. This will suck up nasty fleas that didn't make it to the vacuum bag the first time. Also, pick up any objects from the floor to maximize your floor coverage. Be sure to change the vacuum bag often and be sure fleas can't escape while doing so.

Another tip:
Place a towel or two, during times of flea infestation, on top of your dog's favorite resting area. You way want to apply an insect growth regulator (IGR) to the towel. IGR is a natural hormone safe for your pet but deadly for fleas. It will kill eggs, larvae and adult fleas. Be sure to wash towel with hot water once or twice daily as necessary to control fleas.
